BEIJING, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Ping An-Shionogi Co., Ltd., a joint venture by Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd. and Japan's Shionogi & Co., Ltd., was officially launched in Shanghai Thursday, aiming to build an integrated platform for medical and healthcare service, reported by Shanghai Securities News.
The joint venture will rely on Ping An's strong medical resources, leading digital technology and insurance business, and Shionogi's capabilities on new drug development and rich experience in the pharmaceutical industry to provide customers with comprehensive and personalized health management programs including sports, over-the-counter drugs, and vaccines.
Meanwhile, Ping An-Shionogi Co., Ltd. will advance the in-depth cooperation between the two sides in drug research, development, production, and sales.
The establishment of the joint venture is a new step of Ping An in the medical ecosystem construction. In the future, Ping An will support the development of the company with its solid customer base, leading medical technology capabilities and medical and health service platform, contributing to the improvement of people's health, said Chen Xinying, co-CEO of Ping An.
