BEIJING, July 26 (Xinhua) -- China will ramp up efforts to push forward the large-scale development of 5G applications, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News quoted Minister of Industry and Information Technology Xiao Yaqing as saying on Monday.
According to Xiao, promoting the large-scale development of 5G applications is a vital step in promoting high-quality economic development, empowering the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry and enhancing the resilience of the industry chain and supply chain, which is of great significance in grasping the new development stage, implementing the new development concept and building a new development pattern.
Besides, efforts will be made to further promote innovation in 5G industry applications with an aim to better serve high-quality economic and social development, Xiao added.
Xiao also stressed that the country will accelerate the replication and promotion of 5G applications, strengthen cross-sector, cross-industry and cross-field collaboration, and quicken the pace to establish a win-win development model of market-oriented cooperation .
According to the three-year (2021-2023) action plan for promoting 5G applications, the country aims to significantly enhance the level of the 5G development and make breakthroughs in the depth and breadth of 5G applications in the key areas by 2023.
