BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL), China's leading automotive lithium-ion battery maker, on Tuesday inked deal and reached strategic cooperation agreement with China Hong Kong's public utility Towngas, joining hands to advance zero-carbon transformation for the industry.
The two sides are expected to cooperate in areas such as energy internet construction, energy storage solutions, energy storage business model innovation, battery technology cooperation, chip and equity investment to jointly contribute to China's carbon goals of peaking carbon emissions before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060, CATL said in a news release.
The two parties also announced at the signing ceremony to establish a joint-venture for pooling respective advantages, eyeing to build an energy technology innovation enterprise integrating advanced energy storage technology, integrated services, comprehensive smart energy solutions, among others.
