BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) -- The China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC), a non-profit industry organization in China, plans to build a textile and apparel big data center during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025) to boost the intelligent development of the industry, according to the organization.
According to CNTAC, efforts will be made to continue to foster the deep integration of the new-generation information technology and the textile industry, and basically establish an industrial internet platform system for the industry.
The intelligent development of the textile and apparel industry in China is accelerating, and an industry-level industrial internet platform aiming at providing the whole industry with public services for digital transformation is also under construction, said Gao Yong, Party chief and secretary-general of CNTAC, at an industry summit held in Qingdao of east China's Shandong Province on June 25.
The intelligent development of the textile and apparel industry not only accelerates the transformation of production modes, but also enables enterprises to increase the linkage with relevant departments and accelerate the coordination of supply chains.
For example, with the help of the industrial tax and electricity prosperity index built by Jiaxing Power Supply Company under Zhejiang Electric Power Company, State Grid, the Chinese textile company Mengdi Group has been able to achieve accurate judgement of industry trends, and improve decision-making efficiency.
By applying digital technology such as big data in production, energy use and supply chains, many textile companies have promoted green production and carbon emission reduction.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has identified eight key industries, including the textile industry, to carry out trials of industrial data classification and grading, and national and provincial textile and apparel big data centers are also under construction and improvement, noted Gao.
According to him, efforts will be made to foster the construction of key and basic capabilities of the textile industry in pursuing digital and network development, and improve the construction of industrial internet platforms, so as to promote the integration of information technology and the textile industry to a wider scope, a deeper degree and a higher level.
