BEIJING, June 4(Xinhua) -- Profit of industrial enterprises above designated size in northeast China's Liaoning Province surged by 308.7 percent year-on-year in January-April, with the growth rate ranking fifth among provincial-level regions nationwide, reported Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News.

During the period, added value of industrial enterprises above designated size increased by 14.6 percent year-on-year, 20.4 percentage points higher than that of the same period last year.
In the first four months, provincial capital Shenyang's industrial added value increased by 28 percent year-on-year, while in Anshan, an industrial base in Liaoning, it increased by 19.8 percent year-on-year. Added value of equipment manufacturing industry increased by 33.4 percent year-on-year, maintaining a strong growth momentum.
Besides, the province's industrial structure has been further optimized. From January to April, manufacturing industry saw its added value increased by 16.8 percent year-on-year, which was 2.2 percentage points higher than the industrial average of the province.
Moreover, related economic indicators have grown steadily. From January to April, the province's industrial electricity consumption was 58.17 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 9.4 percent, and the volume of cargo transportation increased by 32.2 percent year-on-year, of which road freight volume increased by 46.3 percent year-on-year.
