BEIJING, June 2 (Xinhua) -- The actual use of foreign capital in south China's Hainan province increased 432.72 percent on year to 674 million U.S. dollars in January-April of 2021, reported Hainan Daily citing statistics from Provincial Department of Commerce.

According to the data, during this period, 592 enterprises with foreign investment from 72 countries and regions were newly established in the province, a year-on-year increase of 443.12 percent. The sources of foreign capital have been further diversified.
From industrial perspective, the actual use of foreign capital in the modern service industry reached 605 million U.S. dollars, accounting for 89.8 percent of the province's total. Among them, actual use of foreign capital in the wholesale and retail industries, and business service industries achieved rapid growths.
Specifically, the actual use of foreign capital in the wholesale and retail industry was 340 million U.S. dollars, and that in the business service industry was 82.08 million U.S. dollars. The structure of the usage of foreign capital was further optimized, and the number of projects with over 10 million U.S. dollars investment stood at 15.
