BEIJING, May 28 (Xinhua) -- CNOOC Energy Technology & Services Ltd. (CNOOC EnerTech, 600968.SH) has signed a letter of intent with SK Innovation Co., Ltd. (SKI, 096770.KS) on floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) services for Lufeng 12-3 oilfield, according to CNOOC EnerTech's filing to the stock exchange.
CNOOC EnerTech is controlled by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), a major Chinese oil and gas producer. SKI is an intermediate holding company of SK Group, a leading conglomerate in the Republic of Korea (ROK).
According to the letter of intent, the cooperation is expected to last for 10 years involving investment of about 4.43 billion yuan (tax included).
The Lufeng 12-3 oilfield, located in the South China Sea, is a project jointly invested and developed by SKI and CNOOC Limited (0883.HK), a subsidiary of CNOOC.
SKI is the operator of the oilfield. CNOOC EnerTech is responsible for providing SKI with a new FPSO to meet the production needs of the oilfield, as well as the operation and maintenance services of the FPSO.
