The Ministry of Commerce joins hands with the International Chamber of Commerce to promote economic development in Thailand

May 28, 2021

Abstract : Since its inception two decades ago, the International Chamber of Commerce, as a representative of global private enterprises, has a say in the United Nations in the deliberation of trade and investment laws and regulations.

InfoQuest (May 27, 2021) - Since its inception two decades ago, the International Chamber of Commerce, as a representative of global private enterprises, has a say in the United Nations in the deliberation of trade and investment laws and regulations, said Jurin Laksanawisit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce of Thailand, when talking with the new International Chamber of Commerce chaired by Poj Aramwattananont.

Knowing these laws and regulations in advance will prepare members of the Chamber and private enterprises in Thailand for policy changes. The future laws and regulations should adapt to the changing global situation.

Thailand has seen its economy began to pick up in December last year, and the export data will continue to improve this year thanks to the active cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce and private enterprises, said the Trade Policy and Strategy Office.

According to Mr. Poj Aramwattananont, Chairman of the Management Committee of the Chamber, the pandemic has had a serious impact on the global and Thai economies. Exports have become the main driving force of Thailand's economy, and the world also attaches great importance to removing barriers to import and export.

"The Chamber can help the Ministry of Commerce eliminate economic obstacles, while the Ministry of Commerce can also make use of the network of the Chamber in over 130 countries," said Chairman Poj.
