BEIJING, May 22 (Xinhua) -- The 2021 Changsha International Construction Equipment Industry Chain Development Conference kicked off on Thursday in Changsha, capital city of central China's Hunan Province.
With the theme of "Open up and Cooperation, Innovative Development", the event attracted many representatives of government departments, industry associations, scientific research institutes, well-known enterprises and financial institutions, aiming to promote the connection, integration, and win-win of relevant industries at home and abroad, and jointly build a new ecology of the global construction equipment industry which is expected to be open, inclusive and safe.

In 2020, the added value of China's machinery industry increased by six percent year on year and its total profit increased by 10.4 percent. Since 2021, China's construction machinery industry has kept the growth trend, but there are still great uncertainties in the foreign trade market.
To further develop the construction machinery industry, China should promote the international cooperation in production capacity of the equipment manufacturing, guide enterprises to integrate with international economic and trade standards, and accelerate the construction of a "dual circulation" development pattern for the machinery industry by taking advantages of the new opportunities brought by the Belt and Road construction and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement and other free trade agreements, said Chen Bin, executive vice president of the China Machinery Industry Federation.
In recent years, Hunan's construction machinery industry has achieved sustained high-quality development with its strong innovation capabilities. In 2020, the main economic indicators all hit the best level in history with the industry's operating income and profit increasing by 52.1 percent and 54.4 percent respectively over the previous year.
Hunan has four enterprises ranked among the top 50 global construction machinery manufacturers in 2021 including Sany Group, Zoomlion, China Railway Construction Heavy Industry, and Sunward. Hunan welcomes all enterprises at home and abroad to invest and start businesses in Hunan, said Zhou Yixiang, Deputy Secretary-General of the provincial government.
Hunan is striving to build the world-class construction machinery industrial cluster and promote the industry to move towards electrification, greenness and intelligence. By 2025, the province is expected to be built into an important national advanced manufacturing highland with scale of production and sales standing in the front of the world.
