BEIJING, May 21 (Xinhua) -- The 2021 Changsha Construction Machinery Standardization Forum, an event dedicated to fostering high-quality development of construction machinery industry in Central China's Hunan Province, kicked off in Changsha, the provincial capital on Friday.
The forum, with debut of five sets of international, national and group standards, was organized by China Machinery Industry Federation, Industry and Information Technology Department of Hunan Province, the people's government of Changsha, Changsha Construction Machinery Association and Changsha Association for Standardization.
For a long time, Hunan boasts the largest construction machinery industrial cluster in China, with its capital city Changsha known as the Chinese capital of construction machinery. The output value of local construction machinery industry exceeded 200 billion yuan in 2020 and sells products of 12 categories and 100-plus sub-types to over 180 countries and regions around the world.
The Friday-released five sets of standards are about construction machinery industry supplier cluster, work-related injury prevention, technical norms of appraising green design rotary drilling rigs, procedures for examination of technical parameters for concrete pumps, and concrete mixer trucks.

In Changsha, there are four world top 50 construction machinery enterprises, making the city owning the world's third largest construction machinery industry cluster following those of Illinois in the United States and Tokyo in Japan.
Industry experts attributed the prosperity of the construction machinery industry to the high cost effectiveness of homemade products and the increasing global presence of the technical innovation of industry-leading enterprises.
On May 17, Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. (000157.SZ; 01157.HK), the Changsha-based biggest tower crane producer around the world, completed delivery of the world's largest luffing jib tower cranes used for wind turbine hosting.
On Friday, the Third Construction Machinery Industry Post Market Summit was also held in Changsha to explore ideas for tackling obstacles of the industry, aiming to strengthen the competitiveness of China's domestic original equipment manufacturers (OEM), agents and parts and auxiliary equipment producers.

By the end of 2020, China's construction machinery industry has maintained rapid growths, with overall revenues up to 700 billion yuan from the 457 billion yuan at the end of 2015 and annual compound growth rate at over 10 percent, showed statistics with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Currently, China's construction machinery industry is integrating into the global industrial and supply chain system and boasts the most complete product categories, the most diversified product varieties and the most complete industrial chains.
