BEIJING, May 19 (Xinhua) -- China's southern province Hainan was approved to build Haikou airport comprehensive bonded zone, according to a report by Hainan Daily on Tuesday.
This will thus be Hainan's second comprehensive bonded zone and the third customs special supervision area following Yangpu Bonded Port Area and Haikou Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
With a plan area of 0.44 square kilometers, the bonded zone is located in Jiangdong new district of Hainan's capital Haikou, a core city for the construction of free trade port in Hainan, and is adjacent to Haikou Meilan International Airport.
This bonded area will focus on aviation industry and mainly develop such areas as aircraft maintenance and bonded aviation materials logistics, along with the development of aviation leasing and aviation training.
