BEIJING, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Chinese automaker Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (GAC Group) reported robust growths in auto production and sales for 10 consecutive months since July 2020, the Xinhua-run China Securities Journal reported on Friday.
In the first four months of this year, the automaker produced about 672,000 vehicles, an increase of 51.4 percent year on year, while its sales of vehicles increased 44.7 percent from the same period of last year to 684,000 units.
In April alone, the group's auto production amounted to 193,000 units, up 8 percent year on year, while its auto sales totaled 187,000 units, an surge of 12.5 percent year on year.
According to the company, it has taken effective measures to deal with challenges caused by automotive chip shortage and guarantee the timely delivery of vehicles, which posted a good start to the second quarter of this year.(Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
