BEIJING, April 21 (Xinhua) -- Dali, a famed tourist city in southwest China's Yunnan Province, is often viewed by tourists as the ideal place for a temporary retreat away from the bustling world.
However, the breath-taking scenery and romantic stories of the well-known Cangshan and Erhai are not the case for many mountainous areas here.
To present this "lesser-known" side of Dali, the series of videos "A Different Dali" goes deep into the mountains and tells five stories that took place in Midu, Jianchuan, Heqing, Weishan, Binchuan, and Eryuan, showing how villagers in the mountainous areas overcame difficult conditions, fought against poverty and achieved prosperity with the support of poverty alleviation policies.
Check out those stories in our video column and get your unique e-tour and understanding of this fascinating place.
