BEIJING, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Peaking carbon dioxide emissions and achieving carbon neutrality will catalyze a series of scientific conclusions, scientific methods and technological innovations, said Chinese Minister of Science and Technology Wang Zhigang at the Xiangshan Science Conferences held in Beijing recently.
According to Wang, carbon neutrality will bring about major changes in the economic and social environment caused by technological revolutions,which is no less important than the three industrial revolutions.
Wang also expressed the hope that Chinese researchers should march the country's condition to build competitive advantages through sci-tech innovations in an attempt to support China's low-carbon development.
Besides, the minister pointed out that the country will strengthen efforts to cultivate young scientific and technological talents to provide sustainable talent guarantee and support for achieving the carbon-neutral goal.
The country has vowed to strive to bring carbon emissions to a peak before 2030 and become carbon-neutral before 2060.
