MILAN, April 16 (Class Editori) -- Chinese and Italian companies can successfully work together in fields that concern renewables, energy efficiency, energy infrastructures' digitalization and much more. Circular economy, for example, is a world that still has to be explored and Italy, with its innovative enterprises, is ready to do it.
This has been claimed by Roberto Cingolani, the Minister for Ecological Transition, in a video message during the Italy-China: energy transition – towards a sustainable development forum, pointing out that "the fight against climate change is the most important challenge of our era. A sustainable energy transition will be paramount to win it and to safeguard our planet. Italy is intensively working in order to relaunch national economy after the COVID-19 pandemic by focusing on energy transition and by aiming to reach decarbonization, in line with the principles of the EU Green Deal. An approach that has been adoptedin the national plan of recovery and resilience".
As regards Italy-China relations, the Minister also mentioned the link between COP26 and COP15 on biodiversity which will be held in China in next autumn and which share the theme of the fight against climate change, including biodiversity preservation and restoration. The G20 will also play a crucial role in this challenge and China will be a decisive partner, "especially in light of the ambitious commitment recently announced to reach carbon neutrality by 2060," he added.
The event organized by the China-Italy Chamber of Commerce together with the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the Italian Embassy in Beijing hosted a total of 300 Italian and Chinese main companies of the sector. The three panels of the conference allowed to analyze the ongoing dynamics of energetic transition, especially the difficult attempt to balance out energy and production demand while reducing emissions and moving towards the implementation of ecological and sustainable production systems.
Zhang Jianhua, the Chinese Director of the National Energy Administration, talked about the importance of the multilateral cooperation as well.
