The second phase of Yangluo international container rail-water project officially started construction on August 1st last year, aiming to give full play to the multimodal transportation advantages of the Yangtze River waterway and railway network, thus making Wuhan the largest combined rail-water transport hub in inland China and an important comprehensive transportation hub along the Belt and Road routes.
In 2020, container throughput of Wuhan port reached 1.96 million TEUs, accounting for 85 percent of the province's total. With a throughput of more than 1 million vehicles, it is the third largest automobile logistics distribution center in China. An international shipping logistics network system connecting rivers and seas has been initially established.
