BEIJING, April 16 (Xinhua) -- East China's Anhui Province saw its electricity generation surged 22.6 percent year on year to 74.71 billion kWh in the first quarter of 2021, according to local authorities.
During the same time, Anhui's electricity consumption picked up 22.4 percent year on year to 63.42 billion kWh.
In terms of industries, the province's primary industry, secondary industry and tertiary industry registered 41 percent, 31.4 percent and 27.7 percent of year-on-year growth on power consumption during the period, respectively.
In addition, Anhui's residential electricity consumption from both urban and rural areas dropped by 2.8 percent year on year, 9.1 percentage points lower than that of last year.
