BEIJING, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Western China's first self-deriving bus route under L4-level was officially came into commercial operation in Chongqing on Monday.
As a self-driving bus for open road operation, the 5.9-meter long Robobus is capable to handle bus stops scenarios and more complex urban road conditions while making accurate stops.
The Robobus is equipped with four lidars, two millimeter-wave radars and seven monocular cameras to help the bus detect various transport information during the driving.
Specifically, these advanced devices can capture relevant information about pedestrians and cars, and even capable to predict traffic changes and estimate waiting times in advance to ensure efficient and safe operation.
It is noted that the self-driving bus route is available in two-way driving with a total mileage of nearly 10 kilometers.
