BEIJING, March 25 (Xinhua) --Northeast China's Jilin Province saw its foreign trade with Belt and Road countries hike 59.6 percent year on year to 8.55 billion yuan in the first two months of this year, according to Jilin Customs.
The European Union, Central and Eastern Europe, the United States, and Mexico are Jilin's major trade partners.
Among them, the province's trade with Central and Eastern European countries amounted to 5.35 billion yuan in the first two months of 2021, an increase of 84.1 percent year on year.
The trade volumes with the European Union, the largest trading partner of the province, reached 17.05 billion yuan during the period, surging 84.6 percent from the same period of last year.
Mechanical and electrical products remained the dominant category of exports and imports of Jilin in the first two months with sharp increase in exports.
Specifically, exports of mechanical and electrical products accounted for nearly 46.3 percent of the its total exports, and imports of mechanical and electrical products took up 86.8 percent in the total import value. (Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
