BEIJING, March 25 (Xinhua) -- The extensive transport network in China is empowering all production factors at a faster speed, creating more time than any other economy to speed up the economic growth.

In building the "dual circulation" development pattern, in which domestic and overseas markets reinforce each other, with the domestic market as the mainstay, the time production factors created by mass transportation will shape the new topology structure of Chinese economy and release more powerful economic equivalent.

-- Civil aviation creates more two-way opportunities

China's civil aviation sector took the lead in recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, showing to the world the resilience, vitality and strength of the Chinese economy.

According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic caused a huge shock on the global civil aviation industry, thanks to the effective epidemic prevention and control measures, China's civil aviation sector was the first in the world to resurrect and became the fastest-recovering and best-performing aviation market globally.

In the whole year of 2020, the total transport turnover, passenger traffic as well as cargo and mail traffic of China's civil aviation sector registered respectively 79.85 billion tonne-kilometers, 420 million, 6.766 million metric tones (tonnes), equivalent to 61.7 percent, 63.3 percent and 89.8 percent of that in 2019.

In the fourth quarter, the total transport turnover, passenger traffic as well as cargo and mail traffic of the sector recovered to respectively 76.3 percent, 84.2 percent and 95.8 percent of that in the same period of 2019, with transport on domestic routes resuming to 94.5 percent.

China's aviation market has shown great resilience in the face of the pandemic, which has injected sufficient confidence into the global aviation industry, including aircraft manufacturers like Airbus, said George Xu, CEO of Airbus China.

In 2020, Airbus delivered 99 civil aircraft to Chinese users, accounting for 17.5 percent of its global deliveries.

It's learned that since the Asian final assembly line of Airbus's A320 series aircraft in north China's Tianjin Municipality began operation in 2008, it has assembled and delivered more than 500 aircraft.

French top aviation and rocket engine manufacturer Safran S.A. has also chosen to expand its presence in China and work with Chinese industry partners.

Currently, the company has more than 20 entities in China, with business covering aircraft engines, helicopter engines, aircraft landing gear and braking systems, nacelles, flight control systems, transmission systems, aircraft seats and cabins, etc.

It has not only actively participated in major aircraft, helicopter and engine projects in China, such as the C919, ARJ21 and AC352, but also cooperated with Air China and China Eastern Airlines to establish aircraft maintenance centers.

China's home-grown aviation companies have also played a vital role in supporting the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and the recovery of global supply chains.

To support global efforts to fight the pandemic, SF Airlines, the aviation branch of China's express giant SF Express, has opened new routes from China to Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Belgium, Croatia and other countries, providing a strong guarantee for cross-border emergency transport.

China is the world's most promising aviation market, and Honeywell looks forward to continuing to strengthen its partnership with China's civil aviation industry by providing products and solutions to help the industry become more competitive in the global marketplace, said Steven Lien, president of Honeywell China and president of Honeywell Aerospace Asia-Pacific.

-- China-Europe freight trains smooth domestic and international circulation

According to the municipal government of Xi'an, capital city of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, in 2020, the Chang'an China-Europe freight train trips recorded 3,720 trips, 1.7 times that of 2019, with cargo delivered reaching 2.811 million tonnes, up 60 percent from 2019.

Since its opening at the end of November 2013, the Chang'an China-Europe freight train has continuously increased speed and expanded lines, realizing the transformation from scattered operation to normal operation and single export to two-way trade, and becoming a key logistics channel for smooth domestic and international circulation.

During the pandemic, the Chang'an China-Europe freight train also expanded a number of new routes from Xi 'an to Vienna, Istanbul and the northern Italian city of Verona, introduced Sun Yimin, secretary of the Party working committee and director of the management committee of Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park.

So far, the Chang'an China-Europe freight train regularly runs 15 lines facing Central Asia, South Asia, West Asia and Europe, covering the entire Eurasian continent, Sun added.

Besides, in 2020, the return trips made by the Chang'an China-Europe freight train reached 1,311, and the heavy container rate remained at 100 percent for many years in a row. In that year, Xi 'an also opened a public train service to Europe, with two trips and two returns made per day, basically realizing the sound interaction of railway trade.

The Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park also launched intensive China-Europe freight train services linking neighboring node cities in 2020, opening a trade channel for goods from all over China to reach the world.

In December 2020, by joining hands with other cities in Shaanxi Province, the park opened freight train lines connecting southern and northern Shaanxi, helping the special agricultural products and plush toys produced by community factories in southern Shaanxi, as well as chemical products and light industrial products in northern Shaanxi smoothly go global.

According to statistics, the Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park has opened 12 China-Europe freight train assembly lines, and basically realized the interconnection between the Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park and the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and other major sources of goods.

As an inland port with both international and domestic codes, the Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park has integrated customs clearance with more than ten Belt and Road cities.

Taking this advantage, the comprehensive bonded zone and the industrial park in the Xi'an International Trade and Logistic Park have become the main positions to undertake the industries in the east.

Currently, a total of more than 40 electronic product processing enterprises have transferred part of their production capacity to the Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park.

Now, the spillover effect of the Chang'an China-Europe freight train is gradually highlighted. The Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park is cooperating with centrally-administered state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to build a modern logistics industry demonstration zone, a port-facing financial and trade park, and an international and modern bulk commodity trading center, so as to promote the integrated development of trade, industries and the city.
