BEIJING, March 22 (Xinhua) -- The Housing Resettlement Project (Yufa) of Beijing Daxing International Airport was officially awarded as the "Beijing Green Ecological Demonstration Zone" (residential area category) after several rounds of evaluations, which is the first residential area receiving this award.
As a model of green ecological project, the Housing Resettlement Project (Yufa) has gained extensive experience on environment protection.
The project selects Yufa town, the area with the least impact of airport noise (below 65 decibels) for construction, which is better than the national standard (below 70 decibels). Moreover, the project is close to Daqing-Guangzhou Expressway and National Highway 106, easily connecting Beijing urban area in the north and Hebei Province in the south with the superior traffic conditions.
It is noted that the project's 1.6 million square meters of residential building areas, as well as the supporting public service buildings, are all designed and constructed according to the two-star green building standard, becoming one of the largest resettlement houses with such standard in Beijing.
Meanwhile, the project constructs complete barrier-free facilities in front of the residential buildings, uses recycled building aggregates in the road construction of the community, and adopts multi-layer approach of trees, shrubs and grasses, with the coefficient of native plants reaching 0.9.
Besides, 18 percent of the parking spaces of the project are reserved for electric vehicles, with all charging piles installed underground.
In addition, the Housing Resettlement Project of Beijing Daxing International Airport has also set up original town layout maps in 15 communities, reused 544 cubic meter of old bricks from demolished houses for landscapes, collected left farm tools, and restored the old town sceneries in parks, making residents feel like going home.
