BEIJING, March 16 (Xinhua) -- China Evergrande New Energy Vehicle Group Limited (00708.HK), announced Monday that it will partner with Tencent to build a joint venture committed to the development of smart in-car operating system with independent property rights.
According to the announcement, the joint venture will be 60/40 controlled by Evergrande Auto and Tencent. Evergrande Auto boasts leading new energy vehicle (NEV) research and development (R&D) capability, while Tencent is advanced in Internet technology, telematics, artificial intelligence and big data. Both sides will give full play to their respective advantages and create a world-leading smart operating system.
The smart operating system is expected to provide application scenes including office, entertainment, education, shopping, telemedicine, and create safe digital driving experience for users. (Edited by Zhang Yuan with Xinhua Silk Road, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
