BEIJING, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Construction on 110 projects kicked off on Saturday in south China's Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP).
It is the second batch of projects launched in Hainan for the FTP construction in 2021.
The projects, covering areas such as industrial development, infrastructure upgrading, and public services for the people's livelihood, involve a total investment of 28.9 billion yuan, of which 8.8 billion yuan was scheduled to be invested in 2021.
It is reported that since this year, Hainan FTP has started construction of 249 projects with a total investment of 70.8 billion yuan.
In June last year, China released a master plan for the Hainan FTP, aiming to build the whole Hainan Island into a globally influential high-level free trade port by the middle of the century. (Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
