BEIJING, March 12 (Xinhua) -- China became Austria's second largest source of imports in 2020, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Friday.
Austria's imports from China amounted to 10.15 billion euros in 2020, accounting for 7 percent of Austria's total imports, while the Alpine country's exports to China stood at 3.93 billion euros last year, making up 2.8 percent of its total exports, data from federal institution Statistics Austria showed on Thursday.
According to Statistics Austria, China has been one of Austria's top ten trading partners over the past five years. Compared with 2019, Austria's imports from China surged by 3.2 percent in 2020, while its exports to China fell by 11.9 percent.
Data showed that last year, Austria's exports and imports slumped by 7.5 percent and 8.6 percent year on year respectively.
