BEIJING, March 11 (Xinhua) -- A 5G industry alliance was officially launched Monday in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, which is committed to building a digital Silk Road for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and boosting the digitalization in Guangxi, reported Guangxi Daily Wednesday.
Guangxi pledges to promote the implementation of new technologies, including 5G technology, Internet, big data, artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain, according to the local telecommunication authorities, adding that the region will also focus on innovative application and strive to integrate 5G technologies into various industries.
Under the guidance of Guangxi's telecommunication authorities, the 5G industry alliance was jointly established by five communication operation enterprises including China Mobile's Guangxi branch.
It is noted that the top ten leading 5G applications in Guangxi were also released at the establishment of the alliance, while eight 5G innovation laboratories were awarded the licenses.
