BEIJING, March 11 (Xinhua) -- The shipments of 5G mobile phones reached 15.07 million units in China last month, data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) shows on Thursday.

The figure accounted for 69.3 percent of the country's total mobile phone shipments in February, according to the CAICT, a research institute under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
A total of 16 new 5G mobile phone models were rolled out last month, 57.1 percent of all new models in the country in February, said the CAICT. From January to February, China's domestic market shipped 42.349 million 5G mobile phones and 48 new models were launched, accounting for 68.4 percent and 59.3 percent of the total respectively.
