MACAO, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Macao's gaming industry revenue soared by 135.6 percent year on year in February 2021, the special administrative region's (SAR) gaming industry watchdog said on Monday.
Macao's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau said in its latest report that the gaming revenue was 7.31 billion patacas (about 915 million U.S. dollars) in February, an increase of 135.6 percent year on year.
The accumulated revenue in the first two months of this year reached 15.34 billion patacas (about 1.92 billion dollars), down by 39.2 percent year on year.
Macao's monthly gaming revenue kept a year-on-year decrease in 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19 and the following tightened travel restrictions to the SAR.
However, the drop in monthly gaming revenue has been easing in the second half of 2020. Enditem
