BEIJING, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- The shipment of printers in China hit a record high in the fourth quarter of 2020, with supply disruptions foreseen considering the global chip shortage, according to an industrial report.
In Q4 last year, the shipment of printer peripherals in China amounted to 5.46 million units, up 13.2 percent year on year, data from global market research firm International Data Corporation (IDC) showed.
Among the total, ink-jet printer shipments grew 26.7 percent year on year to reach 2.02 million units, while laser printer shipments went up 13.1 percent year on year to 2.84 million units. The shipment of impact printers decreased 16.4 percent year on year to 602,000 units.
However, China's printer market will see a complicated period of adjustment in 2021 considering the chip supply shortage and COVID-19-induced delivery difficulties, said the firm. Enditem
