MACAO, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Macao recorded 1.357 million entries and exits at its border ports during the Spring Festival holiday from Feb. 11 to 17, representing a drop of 11 percent year on year, the special administrative region's (SAR) Public Security Police Force said Thursday.
Over 91,000 visitors entered Macao during the seven days, decreasing 65.3 percent from a year earlier, said the police force.
However, on the last three days of the holiday, Macao registered 205,000 entries and exits on Monday, 223,000 on Tuesday and 234,000 on Wednesday, increasing 9.6 percent, 24.5 percent and 38.1 percent year on year respectively, according to the police force.
The SAR government's effective epidemic-control measures had helped cross-border travels recover during this year's Spring Festival holiday, added the police force.
As of Thursday, no locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases had been reported in Macao for over 10 months. A total of 48 confirmed cases had been reported in the SAR. Enditem
