BEIJING, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- China's automobile industry made a outstanding performance in January with steady growths both in prodution and sales, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Tuesday.
China's automobile output hiked 34.6 percent on year to reach 2.39 million units, and its sales up 29.5 percent on year to 2.5 million units in January this year, data from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) showed on Tuesday.
Last month, the output and sales of passenger vehicle amounted to 1.91 million and 2.05 million units respectively, up 32.4 percent and 26.8 percent from a year earlier, according to CAAM.
Besides, the output and sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) also registered year-on-year growth in January, with the figures reaching 194,000 units and 179,000 units respectively, CAAM said.
