BEIJING, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Multiple major projects that have started construction in China this year involve new sectors apart from railways, roads, airports and other infrastructure, reported Shanghai Securities News Monday.
Statistics show that since January 4 this year, Shanghai, Xi'an, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Chongqing and many other regions in China have initiated construction of major projects, with a total investment of 1.6 trillion yuan.
Energy storage, high-efficiency photovoltaic and many other industries have been included in the local major project investment lists for the first time.
For example, central China's Hunan Province implements the research and demonstration project of key technologies for large-scale energy storage systems.
On January 18, a photovoltaic project with an desgined annual output of 15GW high-efficiency monocrystalline cells and 15GW high-efficiency photovoltaic modules was contracted between Xixian New Area of northwest China's Shaanxi Province and LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (601012.SH), a local company. It involved a total investment of 18 billion yuan.
High-tech industries are also favored.
Jinan, capital city of east China's Shandong province announced recently to construct 300 key municipal projects with a total investment of 1.6 trillion yuan, including high-tech industry projects such as China computing valley sci-tech industry park, intelligent connected (new energy) heavy truck, Geely smart new energy vehicle factory (Jinan), etc.
