BEIJING, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- China is mulling a new basket of policies to boost the innovative development of manufacturing industry, reported Economic Information Daily Friday.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology(MIIT) proposed to vigorously improve the innovation capabilities of the manufacturing sector by focusing on basic technologies and core areas.
It also put forward to carry out a targeted project to rebuild the industrial infrastructure, accelerate efforts to tackle key and core technologies, and improve the ecosystem for the application of innovative products.
At the local level, industry and information work conferences have been intensively held recently with technological innovation and rebuilding of industrial infrastructure as main topics.
For instance, central China's Henan Province proposed to put building the manufacturing technology innovation system on top priority in its industry and information work in 2021, so as to promote the deep integration of the innovation chain with the industrial chain.
In terms of key generic technologies that cross industries and fields, the central authorities is speeding up the layouts to build a batch of manufacturing innovation centers.
Currently, China has built 17 national manufacturing innovation centers in information optoelectronics, high-performance medical instruments, integrated circuits and other key fields. Next, MIIT will build more national manufacturing innovation centers for selected key industrial sectors.
Central China's Hunan Province proposed to add ten provincial manufacturing innovation centers and make one national manufacturing innovation center to play a exemplary role nationwide by 2023.
South China's Guangdong Province will support Shenzhen to construct manufacturing innovation centers for strategic emerging industries, and expedite the construction of the national high-performance medical device innovation center.
As the main body of innovation, enterprises in the manufacturing sector will also receive more policy support.
