BEIJING, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- China beefed up efforts to continuously improve the level of the facilitation for trademark registration and strengthen the construction of trademark information during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020) in an attempt to better serve market entities.
The country saw the online trademark registration account for more than 98 percent of the total sum of applications in 2020, official data showed.
According to the National Intellectual Property Administration (NIPA), there were 178,800 users registered via the online trademark service system by the end of 2020 in China, 14 times of that in 2016.
Besides, China has taken various measures to promote the transparency and standardization of trademark work.
By the end of 2020, nearly 900,000 documents had been disclosed, and meanwhile, over 50 million trademark stock data had been made public for free.
It is worth noting that the NIPA will endeavor to further strengthen the construction of trademark information and improve service quality and efficiency. (Edited by Yang Yifan with Xinhua Silk Road, yangyifan@xinhua.org)
