BEIJING, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- China will promote e-commerce companies to save energy and increase efficiency, coordinate the green supply chain management of parcels and cultivate the green development ecology, according to a circular posted on the website of the Ministry of Commerce on Monday.
In specific, e-commerce companies will be guided to actively apply advanced energy-saving and environment-friendly technologies and equipment, commit to the green construction and upgrading of offices, computer rooms, warehouses, logistics and distribution centers.
Meanwhile, large e-commerce companies will be encouraged to strengthen the construction of green data centers. China will also select some data centers with high energy efficiency, advanced technology and sound management to serve as national green data centers.
In addition, e-commerce companies in key regions should gradually stop using non-degradable plastic bags, disposable plastic woven bags, and reduce the use of non-degradable plastic tapes. (Edited by Zhang Yuan with Xinhua Silk Road, zhangyuan11@xinhua.org)
