BEIJING, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) – China has ramped up efforts to further improve the rehabilitation service capacity and level of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities News reported on Monday.
Recently, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the National Health Commission and other four Chinese authorities, jointly issued an implementation plan for the improvement of the TCM rehabilitation service capacity.
According to the plan, China will further strengthen the construction of TCM rehabilitation centers and rehabilitation hospitals with TCM characteristics.
The plan proposed that the country will encourage all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities to build rehabilitation hospitals featuring TCM through reconstruction, expansion, etc., achieving the standard of tertiary rehabilitation hospitals.
By 2025, each province, autonomous region and municipality of the country will have one tertiary rehabilitation hospital with TCM characteristics, the plan said.
China will also establish a batch of TCM rehabilitation centers in an attempt to provide high-level TCM rehabilitation services, and carry out high-level TCM rehabilitation talent training and clinical scientific research, according to the plan.
Furthermore, the country will see 85 percent of the tertiary TCM hospitals and 70 percent of the second-tier TCM hospitals set up rehabilitation departments by 2025.
