BEIJING, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) – CNOOC, China's largest LNG supplier, concluded the first international LNG group purchasing trade with 12 LNG buyers via the Shanghai Petroleum and Natural Gas Exchange (SHPGX) on Wednesday, the day the group purchasing trade service was launched.
The international LNG group purchasing trade is a new trade mode that aims to better serve the small and medium domestic market players. Under this new mode, the initiator of the group purchasing trade will provide window period of LNG receiving terminals as well as resources purchase and arrangement services, while qualified buyers could submit their gas purchase demand through the SHPGX's online international LNG trading system to join the group purchasing trade.
A total of 29 companies applied for the group buying trade this time, with 25 being qualified and 12 finally winning the bid. According to the SHPGX, the window period for the spot LNG products is arranged in April 2021, with a total LNG volume of 120,000 tonnes. Buyers could pick up the LNG from April 1, 2021 to September 30, 2021 through LNG tank lorries.
The discharging ports and delivery points include LNG receiving terminals under CNOOC's control and other terminals that have reached LNG processing agreements with the CNOOC, such as Shenzhen and Jieyang terminals.
The SHPGX is actively promoting the innovation of natural gas trade services in order to better serve LNG trading enterprises at home and abroad, and to further boost the fair access to natural gas infrastructures. (Edited by Zhou Yuran, zhouyuran@xinhua.org)
