XI'AN, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- Xi'an, capital city of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, saw surging China-Europe freight train trips this year, according to the Xi'an International Trade & Logistics Park.
By the end of November, the Chang'an China-Europe freight trains made a total of 3,441 journeys and carried more than 2.64 million tonnes of goods, both of which were 1.8 times the figures registered in the same period last year.
It is learned that both the cargo volume and the trip number ranked top among major cities nationwide.
Since launched in November 2013, the Chang'an service has opened 15 cargo routes linking Xi'an with destinations in Asia and Europe, covering 45 countries and regions along the Belt and Road.
