BEIJING, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- South China's Hainan Province signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Chinese electronics company Xiaomi Group and software company Kingsoft on Wednesday.
According to the agreement, the contracting parties will deepen pragmatic cooperation in cloud computing and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Feng Fei, acting governor of Hainan Province, noted that the preferential policies for Hainan free trade port has created a sound environment for enterprises to carry out global strategies. Enterprises are expected to leverage on their advantages in technological innovation and business model innovation, make full use of the preferential policies, actively expand their business, and promote the implementation of projects in a bid to achieve win-win results.
Lei Jun, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi as well as chairman of Kingsoft, said that he hopes to take this opportunity to push forward the practical cooperation with Hainan province.
