BEIJING, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Guo Shengkun, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Monday, co-chaired the fourth meeting of the intergovernmental committee of cooperation with Belarusian first deputy prime minister Nikolay Snopkov via video link.
Guo, Chinese chairman of the intergovernmental committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, said cooperation between the two countries has produced notable outcomes. These sectors include trade, science and technology, law enforcement, education, culture, and others, and have added more substance to the China-Belarus comprehensive strategic partnership.
Hailing the strong desire of the two sides to deepen bilateral ties and promote pragmatic cooperation amid the ravaging COVID-19, Guo called for giving full play to the intergovernmental committee as a platform to enhance collaboration in pandemic responses and counter challenges with joint efforts.
He also called on the two countries to better synergize their strategies, promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and further advance cooperation to realize mutual development and prosperity.
For his part, Snopkov, also Belarusian chairman of the intergovernmental committee, said Belarus is ready to deepen cooperation with China in all aspects against the odds of the pandemic to promote bilateral relations to a higher level. Enditem
