BEIJING, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Central China's Hubei Province announced last Friday to launch Blockchain-based Service Network (BSN) backbone projects at the first BSN Global Tech-Innovation Summit, reported Hubei Daily.
Hubei province is well-positioned to develop blockchain industry with its advanced strategic emerging industries, such as next-generation information technologies, high-end equipment manufacturing and new-energy vehicles.
With the BSN, Hubei will provide premium services at an affordable price to developers and users and facilitate application of blockchain in cities, said an official with the province's Development and Reform Commission.
It is also revealed that the province will roll out a series of policies to support the growth of blockchain, attract and train leading talents in the field, nurture key enterprises to explore technological innovation and build pilot areas in Wuhan, Xiangyang and Yichang cities. The application of blockchain technology will be gradually extended to cover more areas of people's livelihood.
The BSN is designed as a global public infrastructure network, aiming at consistently reducing blockchain applications' costs in development, deployment, operation and maintenance, interoperability and regulation.
China started beta testing of the BSN in October 2019 and launched its commercial use in April this year. It's expected to cover more than 200 public city nodes before the end of 2020.
