BEIJING, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) --The top 100 enterprises in east China's Yangtze River Delta region achieved high growth in both operating revenue and net profit in 2019 with average operating revenue exceeding 163.7 billion yuan, according to the 2020 Yangtze River Delta Top 100 Enterprises Ranking released Thursday.
The total operating revenue of the top 100 enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta in 2019 was 16.4 trillion yuan with a year-on-year increase of 13.57 percent, and the total net profit reached 711.23 billion yuan, representing an increase of 19.6 percent from that in 2018.
In 2020, 21 of the top 100 enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta are among the world's top 500 enterprises with their overall rankings improved compared with the previous year.
It is worth noting that emerging service industry in the Yangtze River Delta achieved impressive growth. In 2019, the service enterprises among the top 100 in the Yangtze River Delta achieved operating revenue of 7.82 trillion yuan with a year-on-year growth of 14.54 percent, and a net profit of 528.95 billion yuan with a growth of 32.49 percent.
Among them, emerging industries such as the Internet service seized the opportunities of consumption upgrades and demand changes, making new breakthroughs in operating performance and driving a high growth for the service industry in the Yangtze River Delta.
In addition, there were 54 private enterprises among the top 100 in the Yangtze River Delta which realized a total operating revenue of 8.3 trillion yuan in 2019 with a growth of 17.46 percent, and a total net profit of 340.91 billion yuan, with a growth of 35.16 percent. This indicates that the private economy in Yangtze River Delta region maintained vigorous development.
