BEIJING, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- China's local government bond issuance hit 442.9 billion yuan in October, the Xinhua-run Shanghai Securities Journal reported on Tuesday.
Among them, the issuance of general local government bonds amounted to 159 billion yuan last month, while special local government bonds came up to 283.9 billion yuan, data from the Ministry of Finance showed.
According to the Ministry of Finance, China saw local government bond offering total 6.12 trillion yuan in the first ten months of this year.
China has accelerated the issuance of local government bonds this year to facilitate the timely implementation of various projects in order to mitigate the impacts of the novel coronavirus outbreak.
