BEIJING, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Construction on supportive rail works of railway connecting Dali and Ruili in southwest China's Yunnan Province started on November 15, which is the last Chinese section of the China-Myanmar railway project in China, reported cctv.com Sunday.

The supportive rail works contain professional projects such as communication, signal, electric power and electrification after fundamental rail works like tunnels and bridges.

Started construction in 2008, the 330 kilometer-long Dali-Ruili railway is considered to be "the hardest railway to build", with its bridge and tunnel ratio reaching 75 percent.

The Dali-Ruili railway will connect the Chinese railway network through Ruili and serve as an important part of the China-Indochina Penisula Economic Corridor, and will promote exchanges and cooperation between China and Southeast Asian and South Asian countries.
