SHANGHAI, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Forum on Norms and Development of Sharing Economy kicked off on Saturday at the third China International Import Expo (CIIE) in east China's Shanghai.
Themed on "new momentum, new vision, new field", the thematic-forum of the third CIIE aimed to promote the development and norms of sharing economy.
Government officials, experts and scholars gathered together to discuss the topic on how to explore effective ways for the high-quality and healthy development of sharing economy at the event.

Sharing economy has shown strong vitality and development potential after the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic this year, noted Gong Xixiang, Secretary-General of Xinhua News Agency, adding that it is necessary to have enough patience and wisdom to guide and promote the stable development of sharing economy in an innovative manner.
With the improvement of the regulatory system and the establishment of the self-discipline system, sharing economy will rapidly unleash its development potential and become a new driving force for the high-quality development of the national economy and supply-side reform, said Gong.

The combination of market mechanism and government supervision is the only way to solve the plight of the sharing economy development and to standardize the industry order, Han Yi, Chief Engineer of the State Administration for Market Regulation, said at the forum.
Masaaki Mochimaru, Chairperson of the Technical Committee of Sharing Economy (ISO/TC 324), stressed that to promote sharing economy worldwide, it is necessary to consolidate the role of standardization to strengthen advantages and reduce risks of sharing economy.
Yu Xinli, Chairman of National Technical Committee of Standardization for Sharing Economy, echoed the view, saying that the standardized development has become the mainstream of sharing economy.
Wu Jingmei, professor of the School of Finance, Renmin University of China, suggested that the development of sharing economy should require the establishment of a broad credit reporting system.

Statistics from the report showed that the country's sharing economy, which presented a sustainable growth momentum, registered a total transaction volume of 3.28 trillion yuan last year.
The forum was jointly hosted by China Economic Information Service and the Development Research Center of State Administration for Market Regulation.
