BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- An alliance on the eco-environmental protection industrial chain in China's Yangtze River Delta region was set up on Tuesday, in an effort to enhance the core competitiveness of the industry in the region.
Key environmental protection enterprises in the region initiated the industrial chain alliance which aims to build itself into a platform for cooperation and exchanges among enterprises, universities and research institutions, strengthen coordination of the eco-environmental protection industry chain and supply chain, and enhance overall competitiveness of the industry in the region.
It is worth noting that the alliance has established an advisory group composed of nine academicians and four well-known experts in the industry to provide advice on its development.
The Yangtze River Delta region is one of the largest clusters of energy-saving and environmental protection industries in China, with a good industrial foundation, development level, and technological innovation strength.
Covering a 358,000-square km expanse, the Yangtze River Delta, consisting of Shanghai and the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui, is one of the most populated and urbanized city clusters in China, contributing one-fourth of the country's gross domestic product.
