CHANGSHA, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- The 2020 World Computer Congress kicked off on Tuesday in Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province.
Experts, government officials and corporate executives from home and abroad gathered together to exchange views on the future trend of advanced computer technologies and industries at the event.
The main forum, two celebrity forums, an industrial matchmaking event and five special sub-forums centering on different themes will be held during the congress.
A list of the top 100 companies in advanced computing was released at the opening ceremony of the congress.
Wang Zhijun, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology, noted that advanced computing technologies and products have effectively ensured the stable supply of services such as telemedicine, online education and material dispatch, and played an important role in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic and the stabilization of the country's economy.
Currently, China has established a complete computer manufacturing system, which supplies more than 90 percent of computer products worldwide.
In the first nine months of this year, China has produced 260 million microcomputers in total.
