BEIJING, Nov. 2(Xinhua) – The Innovation Zhangjiagang Establishment Conference kicked off last Thursday in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in east China's Jiangsu Province.
A five-year action plan for the innovative construction of Zhangjiagang compiled by the Chinese Academy of Science and Technology for Development was released at the conference, proposing that Zhangjiagang is committed to becoming a leading force in county innovation, reform, and ecology throughout the country.
Entrepreneurial innovation also plays a part in developing innovation in the city. It vows to add 580 innovative and entrepreneurial leaders at and above the municipal level between 2021 and 2025.
Zhangjiagang strives to launch 4,000 industry-university-research cooperation projects in 2021-2025 and build more than ten domestic and foreign innovation institutions. Simultaneously, the annual growth rate of local high-tech enterprises is expected to reach 30 percent between 2021 and 2025.
The conference also witnessed the inauguration of Zhangjiangang's innovation committee and the signing ceremony of some major innovation industry-related projects.
Pan Guoqiang, secretary of the Zhangjiagang Municipal CPC Committee, said that the city would build a service complex that integrates technology and innovation and is committed to providing policy support for the city's innovative development.
On the day of the conference, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Zhangjiagang Municipal Government signed a work consultation agreement and initiated four provincial and municipal cooperation projects, including Zhangjiagang integrated innovation service center.
