BEIJING, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Around 1.54 million investors in China opened accounts to trade in stocks on the Shanghai and Shenzhen bourses in September, industrial data showed.
The figure is an increase of 60.09 percent from the same period last year, according to the China Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation Limited.
Individuals accounted for the majority of new investors, reaching around 1.538 million, while new institutional investors stood at 3,600.
By the end of September, the number of investors with A-share accounts was close to 174 million, data showed. Enditem
