BEIJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province is planning to launch a batch of ice and snow programs this winter to prepare for the coming peak season for ice and snow tourism, reported Chinanews.com Thursday.
According to the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the programs include launch of 15 famous ice and snow tourism sites, 10 ice and snow themed entertainments, 5 tourist routes and 10 winter tourism festivals, indicating a recovery trend of ice and snow tourism industry.
Located at the far northeast of China and known as "the place where winter begins", Heilongjiang province abruptly stopped its peak season of ice and snow tourism at the end of January 2020 on the expansion of the COVID-19 epidemic.
At present, under regular epidemic prevention and control, Heilongjiang has started its ice and snow tourism season this year.
The 15 famous ice and snow tourism sites have their own characteristics, such as the Arctic Village in Heilongjiang, Harbin Ice and Snow World, Sun Island Snow Expo and Yabuli Ski Resort.
The 10 themed entertainments for tourists include ice and snow shows, ice fishing and winter catching, snow hot springs and other activities.
In addition, 5 ice and snow tourist routes covering volcanic forests and other sites, which show the winter scenery of northern China and various winter festivals, are also expected to be launched, providing tourists with better products, services and travel experience.
