BEIJING, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Chinese expert Zhao Baige on Thursday was granted Hilal-i-Imtiaz, the national medal of honor of Pakistan, by Pakistani Ambassador to China Moin ul Haque.
Zhao Baige is the vice chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Twelfth National People's Congress, the chairman of the Advisory Committee of the "Belt and Road" Initiative International Think Tank affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and the chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Research and Development International (RDI) think tank.
The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is an important pilot project under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and a demonstration project of China-Pakistan cooperation, which means a lot to improve China-Pakistan cooperation and regional connectivity, said Moin ul Haque at the award ceremony.
The "Belt and Road" Initiative International Think Tankand RDI are devoted to promoting related research and practices under the BRI, said Zhao Baige.
According to her, RDI has carried out a lot of work and made significant progress in think tank research, international cooperation and the CPEC construction.
Specific efforts include making suggestions for the high-quality development of CPEC, innovating the China-Pakistan dialogue and consultation mechanism by building two innovative and pragmatic cooperation platforms, namely the Xinjiang Karamay Forum and the CPEC Forum, and establish a complete system covering legal, credit, training, standards and other services to promote cooperation between companies of the two countries, noted Zhao.
It's learned that the "Belt and Road" Initiative International Think Tank and RDI will continue to give full play to their platform advantage and bridge role to promote the connection and coordination of the governments, markets and societies of China and Pakistan, contributing to the high-quality development of CPEC and the building of a China-Pakistan community of shared future.
